Daytime closure of KY 577 in Owsley County planned April 29

Drivers who use KY 577 in Owsley County will need to plan to use an alternate route on Tuesday, April 29.The road will be closed during daytime hours for full-width paving.

The road will be closed between milepoints 1.9 and 3.459 (KY 11).

No signed detour will be posted. Drivers can use KY 1350 and KY 846 through Sextons Creek and Island City as an alternate route.

Fewer than 75 vehicles use this section of KY 577 each day.

In addition, asphalt paving will take place on KY 2025 in Owsley County between milepoints 2.95 and 5.66 on Monday, April 28. This work will be done while traffic is controlled by flaggers. The road will not be closed, but drivers should expect moderate delays.

All paving work is weather-dependent and may be postponed until another suitable day if inclement weather occurs.
